Are you still dreaming about becoming a cabin crew for the Emirates or any other airline?
Were you waiting for this opportunity for a long time?
If YES, I am sure the COVID situation suddenly destroyed all your plans. Am I right? Don’t be sad and desperate. You can use your time for you, not against you.
Keep dreaming and stop listening to negative news and people out there because sooner or later you will get “depressed”. You need to have your vision in front of you and believe it is going to happen and it will eventually happen for you.
Don’t focus on the problem but focus on the solution.
Ask yourself the following questions:
“How can I benefit from this pandemic situation?”
“What can I do during this time?”
I am sure you will come up with some great ideas.
Get prepared, get the experience and you will be ready by the time the airlines start to hire again.
Here are my suggestions that you can do to be ahead of other candidates:
✈If you are a fresh graduate without the experience, get a job, even a part-time job (in a bank, in a hotel, in a restaurant, in a coffee shop, in a call center) – where you get a customer service experience (dealing with the people).
✈Attend online courses to upgrade your skills (communication, body language, English, so on …)
✈Improve your English – read this article to find out more.
✈If your BMI is below or above the airline’s criteria, do something about it, exercise, eat properly. Diets don’t work and once you start flying you will have the same weight you have now. (jo-jo effect). Eating well and exercising must become your habit.
✈Learn how to swim, you don’t want to be afraid when you have to go to the pool during the simulator sessions.
✈If your teeth are not straight or you have a huge gap between the teeth, go to a dentist and ask for braces. You might have presently looking teeth by the time the airlines start recruiting again.
✈If you have scoliosis, exercise, make sure your back will get stronger. You will definitely need it while flying.
✈Do you have acne and/or eczema? Visit a dermatologist, it is better when you get rid of it before you start flying. The dry air will make it worse.
✈Learn how to meditate.
✈Work on your weaknesses (teamwork skills, communication skills, or whatever your weakness is)
✈Learn from the best, find someone who can help you to become a cabin crew – be ready to invest.
Now you have two choices:
1. You can stay at home and do nothing, feel sorry for yourself, complain, and come up with so many reasons why this COVID is not fair.
2.Think positively, think in possibilities, make a plan, and take action.
Choose wisely and take responsibility for your life.
